Mitch Rapp is coming to the big screen!

The Hollywood Reporter just announced that CBS Films has hired Michael Cuesta to direct American Assassin. Stephen Schiff will write the script based on Vince Flynn’s bestselling novel of the same name. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Nick Wechsler are set to produce the film.

This is very exciting news! It’s also surprising as many, myself included, thought CBS Films was going to let their rights expire – which they would have done this April, had they not got a film into production. Under that scenario, the film rights to Vince Flynn’s popular novels would have gone back to the Flynn estate. CBS Films, wisely, decided not to let that happen.
